Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a system of healing
that has been practised in china for 2500 years.
The essence of acupuncture treatment is improving
the overall well being of the patient, as well as
the treatment of specific symptoms
Acupuncture is a form of therapy
in which fine needles are inserted into specific
points on the body call acu-points. A person’s
health is influenced by the flow of Qi in the body,
in combination with the universal forces of Yin
and Yang become unbalanced, and illness may result.
By inserting fine needles into the channels of energy,
an acupuncturist can stimulate the body’s
own healing response and help restore its natural
balance.
The principal aim of acupuncture
in treating the whole person is to recover the equilibrium
between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects
of the individual, restoring homeostasis to mind
body spirit.
Herbal Medicine
Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine
(TCM) is one of the oldest systems of medicine in
the world. It is primarily concerned with establishing
and eradicating the cause of ill health through holistic
treatment of the individual. Herbalists use whole
plant extracts and believe that by using plants in
their natural form, many of the side effects associated
with modern medicine can be avoided. The doctors prescribe
combinations of herbs (carefully selecting up to 15
from a total of 300) specifically suited to treat
you and your condition. Each prescription is therefore
tailor-made. The herbs are being processed and to
be cooked and drunk as a decoction or taken in tablet
or capsule, to resolve the problem.
Massage –
Tui Na
Massage is an excellent way to relax
the mind, body and spirit. It enhances general health
and vitality by easing tension in muscles, joints
and meridian points. It improves circulation, helps
lymphatic drainage and tones the body. It is particularly
effective in healing and dispelling of pain in condition
such as back, neck and joint pain, headaches and sports
injuries including fatigue, insomnia and for beauty
therapy etc.
Cupping therapy
The procedure involves placing glass
cups over specific points on the back and then heating
them to create a vacuum. It unblocks lymph nodes along
the spine, which in turn helps the body to work more
efficiently.
